William Thomas Tew, son of Thomas Tew and Rebecca Bird, was born 2 February 1859 at Springville, Utah County, Utah Territory, United States. He married Clara Elizabeth Snow, daughter of General Warren S. Snow and Sarah E. Whiting, on 31 January 1884 at Salt Lake City, Utah.
