(son of Nicholas Van Dyke and Lydia Okie of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania). Born December 11, 1830, Philadelphia. Came to Utah, spring of 1849.
Married: Charlotte Pixton March 6, 1857, Salt Lake City (daughter of Robert Pixton and Elizabeth Cooper of Taylorsville, Utah, pioneers 1849). She was born February 8, 1840.
William David born March 2, 1858, married Martha Ellen Evans; Robert Pixton born February 26, 1860, married Eliza Wareing; Charlotte E. born March 23, 1862, married Paul F. Shaeffer; McGaw born November 12, 1864, married Louisa Howell; Don Carlos born January 16, 1866, married Kate Underwood; Lydia born November 5, 1868, married Chase L. Ashton; Eugenia born March 15, 1870, married Ernest Parish; Louis B. born November 17, 1872, married Sophia Beck; Maude born November 15, 1875, married William G. Sadler; Alfred O. born April 18, 1879, married Vera Hardy.
Family resided Ogden and Salt Lake City, Utah.
