About William Carvin Winters

Came to Texas in 1832. He was issued Land Grant in 1835 by the Government of Mexico in the Jose Vehlein Colony. Sergent Winters, wounded in the Battle of San Jacinto, was the first to move westward in 1844. He ws in Seguin. Seeking health in higher altitude, he, and family, established the Winters Mills Settlement, known as Wimberly. His home still stands.
