About Woodbury Starkweather

Woodbury died on his return from captivity, states the church record of the North Society of Preston, CT on the 29th of Jan 1781. Inventory was taken 11 April 1781, amounting to L92-17-7. He was a private in Capt. Hewit's Company, Col Latimer's Regt of Conn. militia. They were at Saratoga in 1777, participating in both battles (19 Sep and 9 Oct). The length of his service is indicated by the fact that he was paid from 23 Aug to 7 Nov 1777, as was also his brother, Amos of the same company.
