late 1940's - Trekking across Alaska, Yule finds out that 600 acres could be obtained for free IF, that recipient agreed to homestead the property. Yule obtains his 600 acre parcel near the town of Homer, Alaska situated on the Kenai Penninsula.
Yule accepts this land and sends word home to his relatives in Switzerland - they do not come to Alaska; however Yules wife Ruth does!

The couple raise 8 children together on the 600 acre property.
Later Yule and Ruth divorce.

Currently (2012-2013) the Discovery Channel televises a reality series known as "Alaska, the Last Frontier". Some of Yule and Ruth's children are featured on the program.
