Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother and Princess Anne were present at the marriage in the Guards Chapel yesterday and Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon attended the reception afterwards of Major Andrew Parker Bowles, The Blues and Royals, eldest on of Mr & Mrs Derek Parker Bowles, of Whiteoak House, Highclere, Newbury, Berkshire, and Miss Camilla Shand, elder daughter of Major and the Hon Mrs Shand, of The Laines, Plumpton, Lewes, Sussex. Father Jerome Lambert, OSB, and the Rev. F.W.H. White took part in the service.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white silk organdie and a tulle veil held in place by a tiara. She was attended by Samantha and Valentine Beresford, Elizabeth Ann and Charles Paravicini, Philippa Egerton, Lady Emma Herbert, Mary Muir, Sarah Ward, the Hon Roger Chetwode, Thomas Pitman, James Goodhart, the Hon Maurice Roche, Nicholas Hornby, Richard Smith-Bingham, Carlos Felipe Mejia and Dominic Morley. Mr Simon Parker Bowles was best man. A guard of honour was formed by warrant officers of the Blues and Royals.
