About James Sutherland

James Sutherland, son of Eric Sutherland,5th Lord Duffus, in whose favour the title was restored by Act of Parliament 25 May 1826, - born in 1747, and in 1770 was retoured heir-general to his father.[5]

He was an officer in the army.

He died 30 January 1827, unmarried, in Harley Street, Marylebone.

He was buried on 7 February in Marylebone Church, and was succeeded in his title by his cousin, Sir Benjamin Sutherland Dunbar.

(56) James, fifth Lord Duffus, born 1747 ; died unmarried 30th January 1827. He was served heir to his father 22nd February 1770. His title was restored to him, by Act of Parliament, 25th May 1826. He was succeeded by his cousin - Sir Benjamin Sutherland Dunbar, third Baronet of Hempriggs
