By the 1851 census, at age 29, Betsey's father William is listed as occupation Ag Labourer. The Census shows he is living at Barrington No.71 with his wife Mary (27), and their daughters Mary Ann (4) and Anna (2). Williams parents and siblings are living next door at Barrington No.72.
Arrived NSW 13 May 1857 via "Plantagenet". William age 35, wife Mary 34 and 5 children Mary Ann 10, Hannah 9, Betsy 6, George 3 & James 10 weeks was born during the voyage. Williams 20 year old brother, Samuel, also came with them.
The family stayed at Tomago for about a year before buying land on Moscheto Island and establishing their farm.
Betsy married George Robert Foster of Moscheto Island (aka Mosquito I) and the family continued to live on the island until selling the property and building a hotel at....
