Mr Eberhard Thelander Fischer, 18, was born 2 June 1893 the son of Edvard Fisher and Johanna Fischer (née Nilsdotter), he had 7 siblings.
Eberhard Fisher worked at a factory near his home in Björkeberga, Skeinge, Osby, Skåne, Sweden. He came from a poor home and when he was forced to emigrate he had to borrow money to buy the ticket. When he went away he said to his nephew Herman "When I come back you'll surely be an grown-up man." He travelled with Olof Svensson, also from Skeinge. They went via Denmark and bought their tickets in Copenhagen. Eberhard wrote a letter home from Southampton where he boarded the Titanic as a third class passenger .
He died in the sinking, his body, if recovered, was never identified.
The Mansion House Fund paid 875.52 Kr (£48) to parents. 911 Kr (£50) damage claims paid 23 August 1914.
Notes On several lists Eberhard Fisher was believed to be Danish or German which created a lot of confusion. The problems of spelling foreign names is also shown in White Stars list where his address is written as "Bjor Kerbergo, Ousby"
