Mrs Charles Alexander Louch (Alice Adelaide Slow), 42, was born in 1870 in Hoxton, Shoreditch, London. She was the daughter of Charles Slow (cellarman) and Adelaide Slow. She had a younger brother, William F Slow who had been born in Walthamstow, Essex in 1874. Sometime following the birth of William the family moved to live in Weston-Super-Mare, Somerset. The 1881 census shows them to be living at 2 James Street.
Alice, who had worked as a dressmaker, married Charles Alexander Louch, a saddler of 25 Regent Street on 7 January 1898 at Axbridge, Somerset.
On 10 April 1912 they embarked Titanic at Southampton travelling second class under ticket 3085, costing £26. Their destination in America was to have been California where Charles' elder brother, William, was living.
Alice was saved in lifeboat 14, aged 42, she subsequently returned to England on board the Celtic on 25 April 1912. Alice's sons, William and Charles continued the saddlery business in Weston-Super-Mare, latterly moving to 58 Regent Street. Alice ultimately went to Bristol to live, she died there on 29 April 1949.
