Mr James Kelly, 41 [or 44], was an agricultural labourer and lived at Mill Lane, Leixlip, County Kildare, Ireland. He was immigrating to the United States. To pay for the trip his oldest daughter Margaret arrived approximately a year earlier in New Haven, Connecticut. After a certain time period in New Haven James was to send for the rest of his family to join Margaret and him.


He boarded the Titanic at Queesntown as a third class passenger (ticket number330911 £7 16s 7d).


He died in the sinking. His body was later recovered by the MacKay Bennett (#70) and buried at sea on 24 April 1912.


His family joined Margaret in New Haven later in 1912 on a voyage paid for by the White Star Line.
