Ethel was born, May 30, 1900 to John & Ada Austin nee Trindle. She was the eldest child. Ethel was my Grandmother.
On December 26, 1918 she married Frederick Thomas Boustead and soon settled in Barcaldine to raise their family. They had 5 children, and their names were/are:
Mary Grace
Veronica May
John Thomas (my father)
Elma Stella
Frederick Keith aka Uncle Keith
Nana passed away in Barcaldine, Queensland, on July 20, 1979 and is buried in Barcaldine Cementery.
She was called, "Nana" by her grandchildren and was loved by all of them. I remember her as a short, big built woman who was absolutly lovely. Her softly spoken voice, beautiful cuddles but sometimes she was very sturn. She use to visit us at least once a year when my family lived in Brisbane. She would catch the train then stay with her daughter Aunty Ronnie (Veronica), then she would travel with Ronnie to where ever we lived. Her visits were welcoming. She is sadly missed by me.
