INTRODUCTION
The primary objective of this project is to find and relate near and distant cousins that share a common heritage. This project has less to do with the name “CATULONG” since there are some variations to the surname, and no surname has lesser or greater rights to our common history; but rather more importance is given to the genealogical aspects (e.g. employing social netwroks to trace our collective heritage back some to at least one hundred fifty years).
Originally, CATULONG family originated from Ginatilan, a town located just south of Cebu Is. The diaspora of the family brought them all over the Philippines archipelago, with the island of Mindanao as the most logical choice of the influx of emigration due to varrying causes. CATULONG's can now be mostly located in Central and South Easthern Mindanao, but some branch of the family especially the younger generation who seek greener pasture to alleviate their economic conditions can be seen not only in the Philippine archipelagic islands but in some parts arround the World.
