(I'm working on a genealogy project for a friend. She is Trinidadian, but looking into where her family came from in India. I mentioned Bombay (Mumbai), Madras (Chennai) and Calcutta (Kolkata) as three main cities--British centers--of emigration in the 1830s. She is researching the Ramdial surname.
