The Pioneer Settlers of the Bahamas: Census of 1671, NOTE: A. Talbot Bethell attributed the partial census contained in ORG Book C to the year 1671 when in fact internal evidence in that particular listing makes clear that it could not have been compiled before 1736 and probably closer to 1740. Thus it is more appropriately referred to as the partial census circa 1740.
