Bring Your Evernote Notes to Geni with NoteFuser

Posted February 8, 2012 by Amanda | 5 Comments

The winners of the RootsTech‘s Developer Challenge were announced on the second day of the conference. The challenge called for developers to create a new application or service that introduces a new concept or innovation in family history. The grand prize went to Jimmy Zimmerman for NoteFuser, which brings the power of Evernote to your genealogical research. After receiving his award, Jimmy stopped by the Geni booth to give us a brief demo of NoteFuser with Geni. We were all really excited to see what he created.

NoteFuser is a Google Chrome extension that allows you to connect your Evernote notes to Geni profiles or FamilySearch person records. Are you an Evernote user? With just the click of a button, you can easily create research logs and add other notes right on the Geni or FamilySearch profile.

I work for Evernote and I’d love to chat with Jimmy, if someone can connect me.

      Hi Brian,

I sent you an email. Let me know if you didn’t receive it. If you follow us on Twitter, I can send you a DM too.

Make a better plugin, which lets you add even a few people a month to your family tree. Normally, as it was fairly over the years.

Google Chrome no longer lets one install plug-ins from an independent site. Until Jimmy gets NoteFuser into the Chrome Web Store, new users probably won’t be able to install it.

I love using Evernote but it seems to be a hit and miss affair with Notefuser/GENi. Some days the link notes load, others they don’t
