How To: Add Sourced Facts to Profiles

So, now that you’ve made your documents useful, you can add facts and sources to your profiles.

First, go to the profile you’d like to work on. Go to the Sources tab, and then click on “Add Source.”

Pick the document you’d like to cite, and then click “Continue.”

From there, you can add the citations for the relevant facts of the profile in question. Make sure to add clear notes to avoid confusion when others work with your public profiles.

Click “Save,” and you’re done. It’s that simple. Sourcing your profiles makes the Geni experience better for everyone, and it helps avoid mistaken merges. When you source your content, you’ll be preventing headaches in the long run.

    How do you create a source citation for the date and location of a marriage? I have a marriage document that I would like to add.

    Hi Grant, nLike Joe, I have wanted to add marriage documents as a citation, but there is no way to do that. I can only add them in the timeline. Is there a way that the source citation drop down menu can be extended to incude marriage events and maybe an other option? It would also be cool if we could add documents in the “about me” section.
