Profile of the Day: Alexander Graham Bell

Alexander Graham Bell was a scientist, inventor and engineer who is credited with inventing the first practical telephone. After a controversial race to the patent office between Elisha Grey and Bell, on March 7, 1876 Bell was issued the patent for the telephone.

Did you know that Bell is also one of the founding members of the National Geographic Society?
