Celine Dion

Happy 50th birthday to Celine Dion! Since signing her first recording contract at the age of 12, Dion has has become one of the world’s best-selling artists in history with more than 200 million records sold worldwide.

Dion grew up in a very large family. She is the youngest of 14 children born to Thérèse Tanguay and Adhémar Dion in Charlemagne, Quebec, Canada. Music was always a part of the family’s life at home. Her parents owned a small piano bar where Dion and her siblings would sometimes perform.

By the age of 18, Dion was a successful singer in Canada with 9 French albums under her belt and numerous awards. However, it wasn’t until 1992 when she recorded the theme to the classic Disney film Beauty and the Beast that she catapulted to mainstream stardom. Over the years, she has released many songs that have reached the top of the charts, including “Because You Loved Me,” “It’s All Coming Back to e Now,” and “My Heart Will Go On.”
