Ludvig Holberg

On January 28, 1754, writer and playwright Ludvig Holberg died at the age of 69. Best remembered for his comedic and satirical poetry, Holberg is considered the founder of modern Norwegian and Danish literature. He also played an important role as a historian and philosophical essayist. His works about natural and common law were widely read by many Danish law students for over two hundred years.
