Posted September 22, 2011 by Amanda | 5 Comments

This week we’re releasing some minor enhancements and fixes, including the addition of the Report tool for projects. Users can now report a project for Spam, Inappropriate Content or as an Abandoned Project. And if you’re a Geni Plus user, you can now see your very own Plus badge on the tree!

Take a look at our full release notes below:

  • Added “Report” option to the Actions menu for projects.
  • Profile hovercards added to list of revisions.
  • Added Geni Plus badge to the tree.
  • Added “Give a gift subscription to Geni Pro” link to gift page.

  • Fixed bug when trying to purchase a two year subscription of Pro using Paypal.
  • Fixed bug displaying Location and Current Location for living profiles.
  • Creating a document manually now creates a newsfeed story and email notification.
  • Tagged photos were missing from some profiles’ media tab. This issue is now fixed.
  • Fixed bug in GEDCOM that was not exporting a previous marriage event.

I’m trying to print a family tree that’s very wide. It takes 11 pages horizontally and only a single page vertically. Not exactly a poster layout family!

Unfortunately, the printing function doesn’t do anything to avoid page breaks so a person can be split in half with one part on page 2 and the other part on page 3 for example.

It would be nice if the printing function adjusted the horizontal spacing between people so that a person wouldn’t span a break. If a person lands on a page break, either tighten up the spacing between the preceding 4 people or shift that individual to the left so their entire entry prints on the next page.

Sorry if this is the wrong place to put a feature request but I couldn’t find a better spot.

Thanks for your suggestions. You can add it to our Feature Request section here:

Are the usability bugs in when entering and editing location data going to be fixed soon?

Those glaring issues are really making location data unbearable to enter.Hard to believe it’s been months and nothing is done… are developers dogfooding or does no one have a clue there’s a problem with this?
