Happy birthday to Taylor Swift<\/a>! Today the music superstar turns 30.<\/p>\n

Swift was born on December 13, 1989 in Reading, Pennsylvania and was named\u00a0after the\u00a0Grammy-winning singer-songwriter James Taylor<\/a>. Many years later in 2011,\u00a0Swift\u00a0would have the chance to perform on stage with Taylor\u00a0during one of\u00a0her concerts in Madison Square Garden.\u00a0Music\u00a0had always been a part of\u00a0Swift’s\u00a0life from an early age. Her maternal grandmother was a former opera singer and performed around the world as a member of the Houston Grand Opera. She even hosted her own television show in\u00a0Puerto Rico for several years.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Before moving to Nashville, Tennessee to pursue her music career, Swift\u00a0spent the early years of her life growing up on a Christmas tree farm. These early experiences inspired\u00a0her latest holiday song, “Christmas Tree Farm.”<\/p>\n

Since catapulting to fame, Swift has become one of the best-selling artists of all time. She’s won 10 Grammys and 29 American Music Awards, setting the record for most wins for an artist just this year.\u00a0In fact, 2019 has proven to be a big year for Swift.\u00a0She released her seventh studio album,\u00a0Lover<\/em>, which has earned her 3 more Grammy nominations.\u00a0Last night, she\u00a0accepted the first-ever Woman of the Decade Award at\u00a0Billboard’s annual\u00a0Women in Music Event.\u00a0Swift will close out the year with an appearance in the big screen adaptation of the musical,\u00a0Cats<\/em>.\u00a0For the film, Swift and Andrew Lloyd Webber<\/a> co-wrote a new song, “Beautiful People,” which has just\u00a0earned a Golden Globe nomination for Best Original Song in a Motion Picture.<\/p>\n
