He\u00a0was born Hugh John Mungo Grant on September 9, 1960 in Hammersmith, England to a military family. His father, James Murray Grant, was a Captain and served with the Seaforth Highlanders for eight years. His paternal grandfather,\u00a0Colonel James Murray Grant, was decorated for bravery and leadership at Saint-Valery-en-Caux during World War II.<\/p>\n

In 1994, Grant achieved international stardom as the star of hit comedy Four Wedding and a Funeral<\/i>. He has since continued to star in many more hit films, including\u00a0Bridget Jones’s Diary<\/em>,\u00a0Love Actually<\/em>, and\u00a0About a Boy<\/em>. Most recently, he earned his first Emmy nomination for his performance in the television miniseries,\u00a0A Very English Scandal<\/em>.<\/em><\/p>\n
