The Timeline is a great way to visualize the events that occur throughout&nbsp;a person&#8217;s life.<\/p>\n<p>For your convenience, the Timeline is automatically populated with information that may have&nbsp;already been&nbsp;added to a profile. This includes information about&nbsp;a person&#8217;s birth, baptism, death and burial. It also includes life milestones such as marriages or the birth of a child.<\/p>\n<p>But what about other important events that occur during a person&#8217;s lifetime? Did your great grandmother immigrate to another country? Perhaps your grandfather&nbsp;moved or changed jobs? Adding these important life events helps to enrich your family&#8217;s profiles and give you a better understanding of each&nbsp;relative&#8217;s personal history.<\/p>\n<h4>How to Add an Event<\/h4>\n<p>To add a new event,&nbsp;go to the Timeline tab on the profile and click the &#8220;Add a New Event&#8221; button.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.geni.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/image11.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-90717 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.geni.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/image11-600x297.png\" alt=\"Geni Tips: Add Events to Timelines\" width=\"600\" height=\"297\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.geni.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/image11-600x297.png 600w, https:\/\/www.geni.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/image11-300x148.png 300w, https:\/\/www.geni.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/image11.png 986w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Enter the information for the event such as the event title, date, location and a brief description. If applicable, you can also&nbsp;tag other&nbsp;profiles&nbsp;to&nbsp;the same event. Once the profiles are tagged, the event&nbsp;will also appear in the Timelines of those&nbsp;profiles.
