Usually this happens when you encounter a Tree Match notifying you of a duplicate profile. But did you know you can still merge duplicate profiles even without a Tree Match?<\/p>\n<p>There are <a href=\"http:\/\/help.geni.com\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/229705547-How-can-I-merge-my-tree-with-a-relative-s-tree-\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">multiple ways to merge duplicates<\/a>, but here we will cover how to\u00a0begin a merge from a profile page.<\/p>\n<p>To merge the duplicate profile, first click on the &#8220;Actions&#8221; button on the profile page and select the option &#8220;Merge This Profile.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.geni.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/image1.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-95731 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.geni.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/image1.png\" alt=\"Geni Tips: Merge this Profile\" width=\"322\" height=\"367\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.geni.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/image1.png 322w, https:\/\/www.geni.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/image1-263x300.png 263w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 322px) 100vw, 322px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>You will be prompted to enter the name of the person you wish to merge into that profile.
