I attended a Civil War Roundtable continuing education class at Baylor University in 1989. Everyone is the class except my daughter and me were telling about their relative(s) including their rank and which side they fought on. We had to admit we that we didn’t know. Well, I now know that one great-great grandfather was killed at Shiloh, three other great-great grandfathers also for the South. One of the 3 great grandfathers was for the North (died during the War) while his son was for the South. I now have seven Revolutionary ancestors proven for membership in the DAR. I have two ancestors plus their wives who came to Texas when it was a Republic, so I am also a member of the DRT. I have almost proven an ancestor on the Mayflower. I never would have said in 1989 that I would becoe so involved in genealogy! Martha Gholson Holland
