I have a John D Davis(1823-1884) who married Ruhama Glasgo as a distant relative. They were the parents of Mary Ann Melinda Davis Phillips.
Melinda married Joseph John Phillips. They were my grand mothers parents. They are buried in the Old Pomona Cemetery in Greensboro.
John D Davis was the son of Close Davis and Anna Adams. Close was the son of Dafren davis and Isabel Scott.
Is this the same line of Davis' that you descent from.

Hi Carol, I am Jimmy Philips. I did some research in the seventy's, before the computer information was available, including going to Utah and going through North Carolina taking pictures of head stones. I have not worked on it since then.
My Farther was Marvin Floyd Phillips Sr. married to Rachel Ruth Collins Phillips. His Father was Wiley Auther Phillips married to Alma Tenna Rouse. His father was Joseph John Phillips married to Mary Ann Malinda Davis Phillips (nickname Belinda Jane). Belinda Jane parents were John D. Davis married to Ruhamma Glassago. I tracked the Glassago's back to Lemuel Glassago in 1753 and a revolation war pension. I stopped there. On the Phillips side, I could not locate John JosephPhillips Parents. My Aunt Lessie Osborn, my father's sister said they were Indians? Ahe thought they were Lumas Indians.

Carol - found another sheet - Joseph John Phillips parents were John Westley Phillips married to Elizebth ? in Randolph County, N.C. Children were James, Keith, Mary, Jane, Neil and Joseph. John Westley was born in Randolph County on Oct 18, 1832 and died on August 26, 1884. His second wife was Delilah - they had 3 children, Nancy and Rebecca. Do you know who John Westley Phillips parents were? This is the Phillips that Lessie was talking about.
