I know that He is apart of my tree I was more curious why would he would come to New Zealand if he comes from such a wealthy family did he get banished or something?

It is said Francis made the decision to emigrate from England to New Zealand. He travelled on the ship "Prince of Wales", departing London, England on 2 September 1842, arriving firstly into Nelson, New Zealand, and then on to Wellington. "Francis Skipwith, a cabin passenger aged 24 yrs, occupation: Gent. - London, England to Wellington, New Zealand - ship Prince of Wales."
