Clementine's husband died young. Clementine had no children, and she moved in to live in her bother Emil Frank's home in Wittlich, Germany. With the rise of Naziism, they escaped Germany together in 1941, winding up in Cuba before finally being admitted to the US in 1942. Emil and Clementine lived in a first floor flat at 1622 Miller St. in Utica, NY, while Emil's daughter Else with husband Paul Cahn and son Michael Cahn lived in the upper flat of the house owned by the Cahns. Clem died of breast cancer. Emil died of colon cancer several years later.
