Hello! My husband and I sell on eBay, for over 12 years now. Our very favorite things to sell are Antique books, Bibles, etc. We find the challenge of tracking down a family history exciting and rewarding.
That being said, we recently obtained an old Bible at an estate sale in Chatham New Jersey. This Bible belonged to Etta House Littlehale.
There is a loose page with an inscription… Has her full name and simply "from Wilbur" with the date March 1, 1884.
The front cover has her name embossed in gold. Etta H. Littlehale.
We try to contact families on genealogy & similar sites, in case they're interested in these great gems of history.
Of course we like to sell things, after all that's what we do… but we always would rather find these books back in the hands of the actual families versus on the shelves of collectors.
If interested, feel free to contact me. Or simply go to eBay, click on the 'advanced search' button, and then search for seller name. We are THEROOSTERS.
Today is July 31, we are listing the book this evening.
No reply necessary, and honestly this is not a sales pitch, just an FYI in case you or someone in the family would be interested.
