I connected the people in the 2 trees and later figured out that they do not related. Now I can't split the tree. I got the message: "Warning: Removing these connections will split the tree." But this is what I want! What should I do?

Splitting a Tree is one of the few things Pros can do that Basic Users cannot. And of course, Curators can Split Trees.

So if a Tree needs splitting - have a Pro or a Curator help you (as Jason has offered to do).

We should avoid "floaters", - profiles or profile segments that is just floating around, - that is what the warning is about, and even curators get the warning about it, but we are permitted to cut anyhow.

Try to find another connection to the part you want to cut away and make that connection first to avoid the warning.

Hi there,
A person in my tree was mistakenly "married" to someone of the same name. Can you please remove Ede Gallers Ede Purens as the husband from Jekabs? His wife is Ede Rutina.

Thanks!

I have the same favor to ask! Would someone please remove the adoptive parents of Briita Eriksdotter Hendrickson? We do not know her parents, and the couple listed are the parents of her husband's previous wife. Thanks!

Hello,

I need a few wrongly connected persons caused by multiple merging and / or wrong entering and / or confusing similar named persons to be removed please. I cannot reach the manager of the profies, I have been trying to for long, he is ignoring my requests for communication, sources and co-management of the Arndt and Schleiermacher related profiles conseqently for years now. Maybe you are a luckier to get him into action. I don't see any sense in trying to do resarch and build a worldwide tree and then filling it with lots of wrongly connected people.

1) unknown Schleiermacher
"Unknown Schleiermacher" cannot have been the husband of Johanna Gerlinde Arndt, as Johanna Gerlinde Arndt died in 1818 in Bonn, just a few days after her birth.
Johanna Gerlinde Arndt is my 4x great-grandfather's daughter.

2) Caroline Arndt
3) Wilhelm Friedrich Arndt
4) Carl Arndt
5) Friedrich Hermann Arndt
Caroline Goebel was NOT the wife of Gottfried Heinrich Leubold Arndt, neilther are her three children the children of Gottfried Heinrich Leubold Arndt.
Gottfried Heinrich Leubold Arndt is my 4x Great-Grandfather's son. He lived a celibatary life as "Privatgelehrter" of linguistics (scientist) in Bonn.

6) Wilhelmine Arndt
7) Heinrich Arndt
Wilhelmine Moerke was NOT the wife of Friedrich Hartmuth Arndt, neilther is her child the child of Friedrich Hartmuth Arndt.
Friedrich Hartmuth Arndt is my 4x Great-Grandfather's son. He had three daughters by his one and only wife Emilie Stäge.

8) Wilhelm Friedrich "Twinbrother" Arndt
This is no child of Ernst Moritz Arndt, at all. Ernst Moritz Arndt had 8 children from two marriages: 1 son from the first, of whom I descend, 2 daughters and 5 sons from the second. Of his children only two sons, Carl Moritz and Friedrich Hartmuth, had offspring.

I hope, you can help me.

Best regards
Nini

Just in case you needsome written reference to my requests:
"Of interest is the fact that Hartrnuth alone of the seven children born to the second marriage of Ernst Moritz Arndt married and had children. A daughter from the second marriage died in infancy (1818); three sons never married (Siegerich,
1819 -69; Roderich , 1821-65; Leubold , 1822 -91); a son drowned in the Rhine River (Willibald, 1825-34); and the only surviving daughter Nanna (1827-60) married Ernst Nitzsch but remained childless. The limited progeny from this second marriage is in stark contrast to the fourteen children and twenty-nine grandchildren from Ernst Moritz Arndt 's only child from the father's first marriage to Charlotte Marie Quistorp, Carl Moritz "Treu" Arndt (1801-85). " ( W. D. Keel, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences - School of Languages, Literatures & Cultures - Department of Germanic Languages & Literatures, Professor in a biographic essay on F. H. Arndt.)

Hello? Earth an Geni? Anybody out there? What do you have to do to get a reply? My collaborator suggested that maybe the one and only manager of the profiles above has been banned by Geni and therefore doesn't answer. Which doesn't really help correcting the wrong information which will confuse others, of course. Is tere no way of separanting the connections above and let the person exist as "loose lines" until we finally know whether they belong to us in another way or not at all? Curators, please help!

Private User - There is a Discussion set up specifically to request help from Curators - and it is always monitored by Curators. Anybody wanting assistance from a Curator should post there: https://www.geni.com/discussions/178003 They can split the tree without the Manager's permission - which may be what you should be asking of them, rather than asking them to get the Manager to do something. And/or ask if one of the Curators will volunteer to work with you in fixing things up if it is not clear to them what should be done.
