What is true of the story that I heard once that Carl Linné visited the University of Harderwijk in the Netherlands?

Carolus Linnæus is my 9th cousin 7 times removed.

It seems true, his wife to be's father demanded that he must have a doctor's degree before he was to be allowed to marry his daughter,
the university in Harderwijk was famous for given students a quick degree, so he went there with a friend and after the arrival he doctorated after only a few days.

Ulf, Thanks for the confirmation and the link to wikipedia. I do not read Swedish but I found the English version. Carolus Linnaeus is my 22nd cousin 6 times removed. I have played very often in the biggest playground with his name, the Linnaeushof near Haarlem. With my parents we used to cycle from Santpoort to Bennebroek and me and my brothers we had a good time and icecream.
Linnaeus may have received his doctor title within a few days but well deserved because based on some thorough research and already put in writing.
