Families descended from the Berdichever

Hi,
I am a great great granddaughter of Benjamin Benioff who lived near Kiev, probably born about 1820. He was a furrier. He had seven children. Four of them came to America (Sarah (Horowitz), Simon, Isaac and Louis). Three children stayed behind.

I have been researching the genealogy for many years. I just came across an envelope in my files which had a notation: "Levi Itzak of Berdicev, famous rabbi, in Benioff family". I have no idea where this came from...possibly a myth handed down. I have no idea if it is true...but thought I might pass it on to you. I have done my DNA, as have other Benioffs.
