He came from Ösel with other Estonian refugees by boat to Fåreösund on Gotland
On September 2, 1941, he was mobilized in the Estonian German Army in a Pioneer Division at Ösel.
His wife was executed by the Russians for honnom unknown occasion during the former Russian occupation period
