Erica Howton,
Please change the title from "Accidentally burned to death" to "Died from burns" as this is what the info in the project talks about. See message from 7/6/19...
Thanks

Done.

Dealing with Mosquitoes! This is an FYI, but summer does seem to bring out these pests, so thought I would share this means of dealing with them. A friend sent this many years ago. Since Mosquitoes can cause death, I thought I would share this with those who follow this discussion. You may even want to do a copy/past and send it to friends.

I was at a deck party awhile back, and the bugs were having a ball biting everyone. A man at the party sprayed the lawn and deck floor with Listerine, and the little demons disappeared.

The next year I filled a 4-ounce spray bottle and used it around my seat whenever I saw mosquitoes. And voila! That worked as well. It worked at a picnic where we sprayed the area around the food table, the children's swing area, and the standing water nearby.

During the summer, I don't leave home without it... Pass it on.

OUR FRIEND'S COMMENTS:
I tried this on my deck and around all of my doors. It works - in fact, it killed them instantly. I bought my bottle from Target and it cost me $1.89.
It really doesn't take much, and it is a big bottle, too; so it is not as expensive to use as the can of spray you buy that doesn't last 30 minutes.
So, try this, please. It will last a couple of days. Don't spray directly on a wood door (like your front door), but spray around the frame. Spray around the window frames, and even inside the dog house.

Hope everyone has a safe, fun, happy and mosquito free summer!!!

Billie June Keaffaber,

Where is the doc you are referring to??? The one used for the picture I looked at and couldn't decipher it. Maybe someone has better computer skills!
Pat

Billie June Keaffaber I read the DC and I think the word in the immediate COD Is anemia, but he ICD codes are 131a = Secondary to acute nephritis and 97 = Arteriosclerosis (excluding coronary or renal sclerosis or cerebral haemorrhage)

Patrica,
I was having same problem thanks Debbie I hate these death records in my family lol. And I got to get them for doctors lol.

Billie

Patricia Ann Scoggin I need a project for died from heat exhaustion. You could change the project title for Heat Stroke to include heat exhaustion to "Heat Related Illnesses" or some such thing. That would make it easier than creating an entirely new project.
Thanks,
Mary

Private User, Erica Howton,
Mary, I will start working on a project this evening. I will see what topic seems to cover your options.

Erica, what title do you think would be the best??? I kind of like "Heat related illnesses", but don't know whether that really covers the subject...

https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/heat-exhaustion/symp...

Heat exhaustion is a condition whose symptoms may include heavy sweating and a rapid pulse, a result of your body overheating. It's one of three heat-related syndromes, with heat cramps being the mildest and heatstroke being the most severe.

Overheated 🥵?

Erica Howton,
We have a slight problem... I just looked at the COD portal and find that there is a project for "Heat Stroke" https://www.geni.com/projects/People-who-died-of-heat-stroke/27735
It has 6 profiles.

Here is the New project: Heat related illnesses
https://www.geni.com/projects/Heat-related-illnesses/55976

It covers a broader grouping of illnesses...

I have 3 options for the project photo... I kind of liked the one that says "Any individual regardless of age, gender or health status can develop Heat related illness" also... What do you think?

Erica Howton

"The People who died of heat stroke" has a this project in HistoryLink

Can the new project use that link???

I have sent Nathan who created the other project to see if he would merge his with the new one. I can help also, esp. with transferring the profiles (6). Then it can be deleted. (As the creator of the project he has to do the deleting, right???)

If he removes himself as collaborator then any curator could delete the shell project. Good idea to consolidate them but if there’s an issue, maybe better to just rewrite the older project with the newer data. The HistoryLink would have to be created for the new project for instance.

Actually I like the word cloud best, it’s the most informative.

And it fits the idea that there are multiple possible illnesses.

Erica Howton,
I pulled a couple of statements from his project & added them to the Heat stroke section in this new one. So all that would be needed is to move the profiles to the new one...

I added the new profile above the "Heat Stroke" profile in the COD portal.

How would he remove himself as a collaborator--he created the project???

Patricia Ann Scoggin & Erica Howton for fixing everything up. It looks great!

New Project: https://www.geni.com/projects/Asphyxiation-suffocation/56193 Asphyxiation (suffocation).

I am putting the project in the CoD list just above Carbon Monoxide Poisoning as an independent project... should it go some where else in the list???

Private User, I think you asked for this several months ago.

If anyone can think of other projects for the "Related Projects" or any other "tags" please feel free to add them to the project.

Look at the photos--couldn't decide between which "cloud" to use--the blue one or the one with the hand...

I just put this person under the cardiac umbrella as his obit just list Heart Enlarged. Hello 😊

I need a project for testicular cancer, please.

Thanks,
Mary

I also need a project for appendicitis as a cod.

Thanks again!

Private User, I am having computer problems--and won't be able to create projects for the next month or so :-( I will put these requests on my "to do" list and make the 2 projects as soon as I am able to do so.
Pat

Private User, If you would put the links here for those you want added to each project, I will be able to add them to the projects when I am able to create the projects.

Patricia Ann Scoggin I am currently evacuating that monster hurricane that has a beeline for my county in Florida. I will not be able to be on, either. thanks for your response and say a prayer for Florida, please.

Thanks,
Mary

I will be saying prayers for all in the path of the monster hurricane Dorian!!! My brother & sister-in-law are vacationing in Orlando, so will be keeping my eye on what it is doing!

Praying for everyone in the path of the storm. I’ve been at the beach, for a friend’s birthday celebration, so we’ve been disconnected from the news over the weekend, guess the storm intensified over the last couple of days.

Private User,
There is a project for Appendicitis... https://www.geni.com/projects/People-who-died-from-Appendicitis/35506

There is also one for survivors of appendicitis... (enter Appendicitis in the Projects search box and it will bring up both projects.)

How well did you survive the hurricane???

Billie June Keaffaber,
If you don't have a specific heart disease listed, I would suggest putting the person in the https://www.geni.com/projects/Cardiovascular-Diseases-Cardiac-Heart... project (which you did.)

I will look to see what I can find on Organic Heart Disease, but my computer is acting up & I am unable to created documents until some time in early Oct. :-(. If I find much on "Organic Heart Disease", I will add the above profile to it when I am able to create the new project...
