Obituary for Ida Wapass
Ida Wapass (nee Dillon) was born to Douglas and Margaret Dillon on February 19, 1941. She was born and raised in Onion Lake. When Ida was fifteen years old she met and married Norman Wapass in a traditional arrangement. They loved each other for 52 years.
Ida always had treats for her grandchildren and great grandchildren when they dropped in for a visit. Sometimes they had to phone ahead in case she was sleeping.
Ida always loved telling stories about things she saw or did. She had a way of making people laugh.
Ida was predeceased by: her loving husband, Norman Wapass; her children, Laurraine, Larry and Donna; her adopted son, Carl Wapass; her parents, Douglas and Margaret Dillon; her brothers, John Dillon, Harvey Dillon, George Dillon, and Alvin Dillon; her sister, Gladys Thomas; her grandchildren, Joseph Wapass III and Wendell Ernest; and her great grandchild, Sahara Desjarlais.
Ida is survived by: her children, Dean (Claudine), Rodney (Denise), Loretta, Caroline (Roger) Cook, Norman (Patty) and Sandra (Robert); her adopted daughter, Rose Wapass; her grandchildren, Dicky (Jessica), Nicole (Jimmy), Christopher (Robin) Jimmy, Alana (Tyler), Florence Ernest and Cody Wapass; her brothers, Miles (Matilda) Dillon, Lloyd (Julia) Dillon, Alan (Florence) Dillon, Pat (Priscilla) Dillon, Kenneth (Linda) Dillon and Roland (Marirose) Dillon; her sisters, Josephine Dillon, Aldina (Gilbert) Chamakese and Martha Dillon; her grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
