profile management changes problems - error corrections needed.

Lynna McMillan - Did you look on the profile itself to see if you were listed as one of the managers? Because checking profiles close to you, I see you as a manager (primary or co-manager) of most of the unclaimed profiles I checked - def. more than 2.

Your mother has a claiimed profile - so either she is the only one who can edit it (the default) or anyone in the family can edit it -- depending on choice she makes in her Account Settings. This is true for any claimed profile - a claimed profile being one where the actual person it is a profile for has logged in to that profile [so your profile is said to be claimed by you, my profile by me, your mother's profile by your mother - all three of them are claimed profiles)

Can you give links to some unclaimed profiles (in Tree View, claimed have blue border around profile photo area - unclaimed do not) where you know you used to be a manager, but now you are not a manager?

Lynna McMillan, you entered a total of 13 profiles. On every single one of them you are either manager or co-manager. There is no practical difference between manager and co-manager.

Some profiles in the list show a manager other than you. If you open those profiles you'll see the full list of manager which includes you.

Managers can be added, but not removed. Multiple managers are the result of merging trees. In your case someone merged a tree, created by your mother, with yours. The order in which managers are listed is mostly irrelevant.

There is an exception: when a person claims their profile, all previous managers are removed. Also if a person with claimed profile dies, the profiles (s)he managed are assigned to one of the nearest active family member.

There are still some practical differences between manager and co-manager.
when a person looking in their Merge Center chooses "Managed by Me", they only get the list for those where they are Primary Manager - it does not include those where they are co-manager. (This is one of several ways it makes a difference who is Primary.)

Also, when one uses Geni's search function, only the Primary Manager is listed under "Managed By".

I can easily understand how a person, looking in either or both of those situations, and not knowing Geni as well as we do, might think they were no longer a manager of a Profile where they are still listed as a co-manager, so please do not think harshly of anyone who is so misled.

At the time of my original post - I had looked and some of which I originally had created I was no longer listed as manager or even co-manager on at the time. If it was different when you viewed then I assume someone added me as a co-manager. ??

I thought that IF I had created 13 profiles you would think I would have been MANAGER on all of them and so those I am listed as co-manager on would have been those that someone added me back on ? At any rate I have received some assistance and thank you for your help.

By the way I assume my mother has had a memory lapse because she swears she never made an account on this site - and there was some mistakes in her profile - which I have been trying to correct which had her listed as biological parent to my half sister and brother whom are not blood related to my mother at all. :) She is 77 now .
