--In Marriage Record -- Babtai / Kaunas / Kaunas -- 3/ Sep /1886 - 15 Elul -- there is
VOLFBERG, Rivka -- father: Abram Yankel -- Place: Josvainiai - Age: 20

--In Family List – (Town) Josvainiai-(Uyezd) Kaunas-(Gubernia) Kaunas -- Date: 1887
-- Page 63 – Registration # 177 -- former Reg # 75/770 there is
VOLFBERG Abram Itsko -- (father = Leyba) -- Head -- age this: 40; 20 in 1866
and included in children is
VOLFBERG Khiena Rive -- (father = Abram Itsko) -- Daughter -- age this: 19

How likely is it that Abram Yankel and Abram Itsko would be the name of the same person??

How likely is it that a woman would be listed as being married in Sept 1886 and age 20
AND be listed on a Family List for 1887 as age 19 and in her father's household, under Birth Surname, apparently unmarried??

--Record for Marriage in 1886, as mentioned above, has as Rivka, father Abram Yankel
-- birth of son Osher in 1889 has her as Riva, father as Yankel --
--There is a Record for a Death in 1905 for KEIDANSKI, Riva -- father: Yankel / [Yakov] -- Spouse: Kadesh -- Comments: "Family from Viljampole"

See her Timeline for possibly more complete versions of those --
--plus currently the 1887 Family List referred to above, where the Head is listed as "Abram Itsko" -- and if go from it to Abram Itsko - look at his Timeline -
-- -- for birth of his son in Dec 1887 he is listed as "Abram Itsyk", for record probably of his wife, he is listed as "Abram"

This has not been addressed.

I just merged two versions o Rivka (Volfberg) Keidansli since by then they had the same death dates and I had forgotten how much of a mess this was. Decisions have to be made about what to merge, what to separate.

There are currently separate versions for Abram Yankel Wolberg TENT. -- Abram Itsko Volfberg and Abram Isko Volfberg TENT. -- Abram Itsko Volfberg.

Oleg Dembo - ypu merged the two versions today.

Did you seriously consider the points raised above?
If so, what led you to decide they should be merged?

If not, why not? And, reading them now, do still think they should have been merged, and if so, why?

Private User, I have made this merge after checking at Jewsihgen data which looked conclusive for me, however I hadn't seen this discussion then. Will look carefully and will come back!

Oleg Dembo - Pretty please - Look at this Discussion and also at the other one for TENT. -- Abram Itsko Volfberg (Abram Itsko Volfberg - Questioning Identity of Father (ie Who is Father's Father)

Would very much appreciate hearing what someone else thinks both about the question here and the one there.

Oleg Dembo - Have you looked over this discussion and/ or the other one I gave the link to
In my last post?

I've made a look and I am not sure in anything regarding Volfbergs anymore :) Will summarize my thoughts in the next couple of days.

Oleg Dembo - did you by any chance summarize your thoughts some place which you can copy here?

If the connections are correct, then the children of TENT. - Khiena Rivka (Volfberg) Keidanski are my fourth cousins.
But there are two connections in a row that I cannot verify.
I have just finished connecting additional profiles as children of her and Kadish, with living descendants with claimed profiles.
I would really like to not be telling them lies.

Those two connections are

1) Is the Rivka VOLFBERG, daughter of Abram Yankel who married Nokham Kadish KEIDANSKIY
really the same person as the Khiena Rive VOLFBERG daughter of Abram Itsko. VOLFBERG in the 1887 Family List (see above and/or her Timeline for more identifiers of that list). ?

2) Is Abram Itsko VOLFBERG of that 1887 Family List really the son of the Leyba we have him connected to? This question is the subject of https://www.geni.com/discussions/173860

I am hoping that one or both of you will look into this.
Please see the first two posts, and answer the questions in the second post.

And see the other Public Discussion as well - think all the info is in the first post there.

Private User I see this post. I have some deadlines through Sunday and will come back to this when I can. It might be sooner than Sunday, but might not be until next week.

The first thing I did was look at the population of Josvainiai. Very small so Wolfberg is more likely to be all one family.

Then I searched Wolfberg in Josvainiai. I see a Tsalel with a number of sons who have their own households.

I would build a family tree coming down from Tsalel and looking at the names his sons named their children. Leyba is one of the sons of Tsalel. I see Abram Itsko son of a Leyba as head of a household. And I notice right away that Abram Itsko has named his children names matching the given names that the sons of Tsalel named their sons: Gesel, Tsalel.

So that tells me that All these Volfbergs are in the same family and it's highly likely that Abram Itsik is the son of the Leyba who is the son of Tsalel. Leyba is the brother of Mordechai Rubin and Shlema. So I do believe that Abram Itsko is the son of Leyba, son of Tsalel.

As for Rivka Volfberg Keidanaski and Khiena Riva, I would NOT assume that Abram Itsko and Abram Yankel are the same man without further investigating. And in fact, the given names of the children of the Keidanski couple, do not at a glance to my eyes support her being the daughter of Abram Itsko son of Leyba son of Tsalel.

Also, Tsalel was NEVER known as Charles if he lived and died in the Kaunas Gubernia. I would edit his profile. Charles was the Anglicization that many of my Calko / Tsalko relatives took upon coming to America, which I assume is why someone has given his name as Charles. Did I miss something?

I have to do more looking into Rivka Keidanski but I'm not convinced she is the daughter of Abram Itsko.

----------
Is that in anyway shaken by the facts:

A) 1874, 1887 Lists suggest this Leyba born abt 1835/1836, and Abram itsko is 40 in 1887 => b abt 1847 - so suggests when Leyba was about 11 or 12.

And B) 1874 Additional Revision Lists [Oshmiany/ Oshmiany / Vilnius] have ZYSKAND - VOLBERG Leiba -- father=Leizer -- Head with son Movsha age this: 22 - so born c 1852 -- Abram Itzyk is 40 in 1887 so born c 1847 - so would fit well with this family. Also, his former Reg. is 75/770 - NOT 42 for first one, as is true for all the rest of Charles / Tsalko Wolfberg's clan. -- Does not mean Abram Itsko goes to the family with Leizer as g'father - does definitely demonstrate was more than one possibility at the time for "Leyba Volfberg" [there is also FOLFBERG Leyba - father=Mikhel on 1866 Additional Revision List for Luoke/Siauliai/ Kaunas - and likely others]
AND: Military List - Date: December 1868 -- Josvainiai / Kaunas / Kaunas [Page26 - Reg.: 91 - Former Reg: 75 ] -- has WOLFBERG Abram Itsik -- father: Leyb --- age this: 23; age last 21 -- Comments: "included in 1866" -- this puts birth within a year of birth from 1887 List, so probably same person - again, not correct Reg.#s for rest of Charles / Tsalko Wolfberg's clan.

Does that difference in former Registration numbers mean anything?
Is the too close suggested birth years of Abram Itsik to Leyba son of Tsalel a problem - or even tho pretty consistent over two lists for each, just accept as somebody's error back then or?

2) Reminder, you said "I have to do more looking into Rivka Keidanski but I'm not convinced she is the daughter of Abram Itsko"
Thinking you forgot about it.

And if possible, see my post just above as well.
