Peter P and Lucinda are in the 1880 census in Smithville, Tennessee. It was Peter’s brother Issac who died in Missouri in 1873. None of the census records have them with children of their own. They will be harder to locate with no descendants.

And he is listed everywhere as “Peter P Johnson,” The Peterson Parrish Johnson is someone else. Having the correct name will make the search easier.

Peter Parrish Johnson was a brother to my great great grandfather Andrew Nelson Johnson who died during the Civil War. Their father was Coleman Johnson and mother was Lucy Phillips. John Bethal Johnson, Issac Newton Johnson, William Coleman Johnson and my grandfather came to Newton County, Missouri from Wilson County, Tennesse around the 1830's. Peter Parrish apparently stayed in Tennessee at that time. Perhaps, he left at a later date.

Perhaps they did leave after 1880. That would make the most sense. Not having the 1890 census is such a huge loss on people without descendants. Do you have a source listing him with the middle name Parrish? There was an earlier confusion of mixing our Peterson Parrish Johnson 1817-1897 up with your Peter P Johnson born in 1922 or 1923 as they were both from Tennessee at similar times. That confusion is what led me to research your Peter P Johnson. His story became a mystery to solve. Sadly, I still have nothing more on him. The trail stopped in 1880.
