Query on Margaret SHORTLAND

Margaret Rebecca Boyce is on Geni as being born 1799 Parramatta - the daughter of Captain John Shortland, Jnr, RN [Marine "Sirius" "Friendship" 1788 + Marine "Reliance" 1795] (born 1769) and Elizabeth Shortland

Everything that I have found on John SHORTLAND born 1769 says that he did not marry

I have looked at My.Heritage trees and some have her father as Commander John Shortland, Snr, RN [Crew "Supply" 1788] (born 1736).

Margaret also has a brother John Thomas Shortland (born 1796 in England) - John had returned to Australia in 1795 on Reliance

Can anyone add any supporting documentation on Margaret or her brother John

Looking in Ancestry.com, I can only find

* marriage record for Margaret SHORTLAND and James BOYCE for 1818 Hobart (no ages and no parents noted)
* 1822 census for Margaret BOYCE - no age, born in colony
* death record for Emily BOYCE (which has been attached to Margaret) in 1852 Victoria

I too am very interested in finding more about this family as my husband is reportedly descended from Margaret and James Boyce. Have you found any answers @Leanne M ?
