According to "Adventurers of Purse and Person", for Virginia, Volume II, John Gray was born about 1651 to Thomas Gray Ancient Planter and his fourth wife, name unknown.
John Gray and his wife Mary (d.c. 1683) had one daughter, name unknown who (probably) married William Dennis of North Carolina. In 1683, William Dennis deeded 800 acres that were originally patented by Thomas Gray, Ancient Planter, to William Gray, Thomas Gray's great-grandson.
