According to the listing of the men who took the Oath of Allegiance on the Glasgow on September 9th, 1738, Johan Nickell Wolff was 26 years old. This would mean he was born circa 1712, not 1728 as we have listed above. Thoughts?

I attribute this discrepancy to a document titled "A Bicentennial Memorial of John Nicholas Wolff (born 1729) and Anna Naria Bower Wolff, his wife, Omaha, Nebraska, 1929." This is a document written by Frederick Lawrence Wolff of Supreme Courtroom No. 2, State Capitol Building Lincoln, Nebraska. This document is available from the Laramie County Library, Cheyenne, WY 82991. This is an interesting document written by a lawyer in the form of a court document with the intent to show Johan's (John's) arrival, marriage and names of descendants. Unfortunately, it contains a number of errors, including the misspelling of "Maria" in the title and the statement that Johan was the "probable" son of Conrad Wolff, who appears on the same Glasgow passenger list. The passenger list that shows ages also shows that Conrad was 19 years of age and I've found no relation between the two. There are other errors in the document where Frederick made assumptions that have been proven false. Many subsequent genealogists have used the same information in their documentation.
