My Husband's Grandmother Anna Cecila Magdalena Janse Van Rensburg (Born Du Toit) was married to Eliza Rudolf Langenhoven, half brother of C J Langenhoven.
We have struggled to get more info on him, and eventually got a breakthrough after some research.
Should I continue adding his family to our Tree, as I see there are so many profiles, since I started researching the family?
How does this work please?
Kindness
Gail
Hi Gail,
I saw your message from following the project. And CJ, as I grew up in Oudtshoorn and still remember visiting his home Arbeidsgenot and especially the time dial! We have Eliza Rudolf Langenhoven here already, his profile is here:
Eliza Rudolph Langenhoven, b8c5d12
For most people his tree would be "complete" - but I see that he has no children added below. If you would like to add your husband's family there, the best way to do so is to view his profile in tree view - here:
https://www.geni.com/family-tree/index/6000000016713604067
And then Click the large yellow arrows that point downwards, to add his details.
Lastly, if you believe that any part of his tree upwards is incorrect, it is best to open the profiles concerned and then either start a discussion (public), or contact the profile managers (private).
You are welcome to message me directly if you have any queries.
Kind regards
Jan
Hi Don,
Thank You very much.
Hi Sharon, Yes, Please, any help will be great thank you :-)
Hi Jan
My humble apologies for changing his name on your profiles and adding my photo as well. I won't feel offended if you remove photo :-) I was way out of line.
It was pure instinct that took over. After I had done the changes, I knew that I was in trouble.:-)
The reason why I changed his name to Ruduph, is: it is identified on the source on C J Langenhoven Death Notice that I have on my profile.
Changing Anna surname was also wrong sorry, I saw her birth surname was incorrect, was not Janse Van Rensburg, She was Born a DuToit, and was previously married to George Frederick Janse Van Rensburg, which I am trying hard to get up as well. His line links up with "my family line" that you are busy merging at the moment. How bizarre. Been working on that for some time as well, and here it all comes together.
Unfortunately, my husband was a laat-lammetjie, and wasn't very interested in his genealogy. He has mostly memories and we have a box of pictures that we are trying to puzzle out, who is who.
I don't like to add random names or dates until I am 100% sure that it is correct, or resort to the estimate dates. I prefer as far as possible to work from a source, hence me taking so long with most of the family. Unless, I am asked to copy paste families over for someone :-)
Thank you all for your hard work and helping me. I appreciate it very much :-)
