Profiles Mentioned:

Charles Warren wrote his LWT prior to 28 September 1802 when he passed away. It was witnessed by Elenor Golden, William DeLoach, Charles Warren. LWT recorded in Edgefield County Book #22, pg 252-253.

>>> Elenor Golden is probably my 4th g-grandmother (married to William Golden); lived nearby on Beaverdam Creek, which connected with Clouds Creek.

>>> William DeLoach (22 Apr 1781 Edgefield, SC - 19 Jun 1849 GA)

>>> Charles Warren is probably John Charles Warren (c1775 - 23 Mar 1840 Edgefield); married Jane Padget. Some genealogies list Elenor Golden as his possible mother because she witnessed his will and proved his LWT. She may have been related, but Elenor (Nelly) lived nearby and had children of her own beginning about 1783. It also seems inconsistent that the will would benefit 'Elenor Warren' (mother) but be witnessed by 'Elenor Golden'.

Charles left to his mother Elenor Warren: love and affection, livestock, household furniture, 50 acres on Long Branch of Clouds Creek being part of 120 acres granted to Jobe Padget by Gov Chas Pinckney 27 May 1790 recorded and examined by Peter Freneau, Benjamin Grigsby.

Charles Warren's LWT proven (received) 21 Oct 1802. Proven by Elenor Golden and Russell Wilson.
