I just created a family tree. I am the 6th generation of that tree. I am populating the tree with many dead relatives and adding living relatives and inviting the living relatives to add their family. However, I am unable to see their profiles because they are private. Is it prohibited for me to view my extended family member's information? How can I fix that?
You should be able to see living relatives within your family group, but probably not their in-laws. To see extended family members information the user who have added these profiles need to include you as an extended family group member. There is an invite to family in the actions menu of the user profile.
If these are unclaimed profiles that you added, and are still a manager of, you should be able to see them.
If they are unclaimed profiles added by someone in your family, who is still a manager of them, you should be able to see them.
If you are referring to the fact that in Tree View, the full name often is not visible - that has nothing to do with privacy. Not sure if it is a bug, or simply a reflection of choices made by a programmer about what to do if showing all of it would result in what someone felt was too much for the box. Personally, I hate that one often cannot see the last name, etc. in Tree View!
