John Pierce is my husband's 5th great grandfather through John's daughter, Abiah (Peirce) Wood, who married Samuel Wood (1750-1830) in 1776. So the Wood family is not connected to Peirce by YDNA.
John Peirce, and his brothers, Abial Peirce, and Job Peirce were in the French and Indian War in 1755. Lt. Abial Peirce was an Aid-Decamp of General Wolfe, and was present when General Wolfe was wounded and died. Benjamin West was a Quaker from PA. who became a renowned artist. West did several oil painting of the The Death Of General Wolfe, in which a young Lt. is shown. West was not at the battle of Quebec, but got his information about the battle of Quebec, perhaps from several sources. The biographies of West and Wolfe describer the the paintings and those present at the event. Also The History Of The Town Of Middleboro Massachusetts, by: Thomas Weston gives biographical information about John, Abial and Job Peirce, and lists some sources that my be of interest to the Peirce family.
