The date of birth given on the Baptismal record is, I think wrong. Frederik Jacobus Botha married Elsje Scheepers on 5 January 1848, which suggests the Sophia Magdalena Strydom died in 1847,, and Johannes Petrus Botha was born in 1847. This baptism was a mass ceremony in Smithfield on 17 December 1848.
