I would like to add a "Jewish Families from Bendorf" project. How do I do that? I just attempted to join the Jewish Communities in Germany project but my membership hasn't come through yet, fyi.

There was a Jewish community in Bendorf: http://xn--jdische-gemeinden-22b.de/index.php/gemeinden/a-b/363-ben..., which included certain ancestors of mine and other relatives.

I figured it out and got it done. Never mind.

^ That should be Henry (Haium) Bauland

Korb is near Stuttgart. There is some information about the community (in German) here: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/J%C3%BCdische_Gemeinde_Korb

(Not sure why it is in this thread, though...do you want to start a project for Korb?)

Lisa .. how it works in Germany now ... have they digitalised records ?
few years ago I asked my family in Ludwigslust bei Schwerin ..Eduard Trawniczek... grandfather of rebbi Ady Assabi (Trawnizek)
and the request went by my german friend via letter and reply too ... crazy.

In general, there are very good records for Baden-Württemberg, many digitized, at the Hauptstaatsarchiv Stuttgart:
https://www2.landesarchiv-bw.de/ofs21/olf/struktur.php?bestand=5632...

However, I am having trouble finding records for Korb. I did not see an entry for Korb, nor for Möckmühl, and I did not find any Baulands in the records for Waibstadt or Heilbronn.

Update: I found records for Korb at FamilySearch: https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/results?count=20&pl...

@Ludwig Wolfsheimer or @Ludwig Wolseley
He and his wife and their daughter Lora Emma lived with my grandmother in Hendon, London, until 1956, so I met them as a very young child. He and his wife both died in 1975 in Harrow, and Lora married Eric William V Acton in Sep Q 1950.

Do not look Jewish or Huguenot to me. They are from Alsace-Lorraine. Can’t be sure about religion though - you may be able to find church records in the Pennsylvania family.

This profile has more details about the family.
