Can we get some primary sources for this gentleman's parents? Right now, he's the son of John Harvie Michael Harvey Lemuel Harvey Martha Gaines Sarah Harvey AND Hannah.

If we use DNA it will point to father as Colonel John Harvie , the Scottish immigrant-try other spellings?

This is a great question and I'm delighted you posted it. I have several replies that I'd love to hear everybody's thoughts.
1. A Harvey Standard seems to be the Harvey L Lists . Considering how many Harveys are out here, this clever working was a boon! !
You may enjoy reading the various paths parsed out into teams, one being the Will from a Richard Harvey (1793-1907) from Georgia.
https://homepages.rootsweb.com/~harvey/TEAMS/team15.htm. The patriarch of my family would have fought in the American Revolution before having a family and a wife named Elizabeth, none of which are mentioned in this man's Will. This says to me that Martha Gaines could not have been our Richard Harvey's mother.

Keep in mind, the first boats docked in Savannah in 1733/34.

and FINALLY here's an interesting possibility for parents from the North Carolina Historical and Genealogical Register: https://archive.org/details/northcarolinahi00hathgoog/page/48/mode/2up p. 47

It makes sense if you know who their children were.
I'd love to hear your thoughts.

I will love to see your husband's YDNA. love it love it love it. and yes, the autosomal connections will show us which of richard's children we belong. That will be very exciting.

With permission for your tasks, GEDmatch T068727 B Bowen, he has Y37 and AT. I work most weekends so be patient with me trying to catch up! I have looked for (SAR/SR type) sources on Harvey some time ago so have a file on my desktop. I'm a Neg/Pos type for files, so I can understand the negative also. Be Well!
