There were apparently two contemporary Sarah Fosters in the Andover, Mass. area and both had families.

A Sarah Foster married Benjamin Johnson 2 Jul 1713 in Andover and had a son Benjamin born there 5 Jul 1715.This Sarah apparently died before 1723 (need source for this record).

A Sarah Foster married William Blunt abt 1698 and had 8 children born between 1699 - 1720. This Sarah died in Andover 6 Dec 1760, aged 84.

It is clear these two Sarahs must be different individuals.

Sarah Foster b. Andover the 25th of May 1677, a daughter born of Andrew Foster III and Mary Russ who m. Benjamin Johnson 2 July 1713 who also d. during July [1707] ? these dates are sourced from Vital Records of Andover volume I, p. 157 and volume II, p. 135.
Sarah's brother Abraham Foster I b. Andover 25 May 1677 who m. Mary Johnson 29 June 1703, was one of my great-grandfathers. It seems your second Sarah is a different individual ? Hope this is helpful! Respectfully Edson Foster [Myers]

Thank you so much for your reply & information. It is most appreciated.

The fact Abraham Foster (son of Andrew Foster & Mary Russ) married Mary Johnson (daughter of Stephen & Elizabeth) supports, but does not prove that Abraham's sister, Sarah Foster was the wife of Mary's brother, Benjamin Johnson.

There is another issue with the marriage of Benjamin Johnson to Sarah Foster.

Benjamin and Sarah were married 2 Jul 1713. Sarah (daughter of Andrew Foster & Mary Russ) was born in 1677, and would have been 36 when married (apparently for the first time).

While there was a Benjamin Foster (son of Stephen & Elizabeth) born in Andover in 1677, there was another Benjamin Foster (son of William and Sarah) who was born in Andover on 3 Dec 1689.

If the groom was Benjamin b. 1689 then his bride almost certainly would not have been born in 1677.

By comparison: Sarah Foster married William Blunt about 1698 as their first child was born 18 Nov 1699. Sarah's father (Andrew Foster) died in 1697, and there may have been financial pressure for Sarah to be married off. In addition, this would be a much more appropriate age for a woman to get married (age about 21).

Raymond: Glad to be of some assistance! If you have further questions let me know OK? The Best Edson
